Beyond the Border Working Group
The Beyond the Border Working Group conducted a public consultation to inform the development of an action plan for perimeter security and economic competitiveness. This consultation closed on June 3, 2011, and Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird released the public consultations report on August 29, 2011. On December 7, 2011, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and U.S. President Barack Obama announced the Action Plan on Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness.
There will be further opportunities for public input as the action plan is implemented over the next few months.
